We are very pleased to announce
that we now have legal representation for those defrauded by iburst.
Our legal team has excellent credentials in this area, having recovered
much money for ex-clients of the H+RC.
Unfortunately, issues such as the lack of customer support, misleading
advertising, and technical failings on iburst's part are not easily
provable.
We have to concentrate on fraudulent billing as
the most provable issue.
The legal principle is simple: If you buy 1kg sugar at a shop
and it weighs only 900g, the shop is guilty of a crime, and a civil
claim is relatively easy to prove. This is the basic approach we
intend to take – the same legal principles apply to iburst's over
charging for "bandwidth usage".
So, here is what you can do to join the legal action:
Record your bandwidth usage / network traffic on your computer
and compare it with your "usage" billing with iburst.
Ask an IT professional to write a covering letter confirming that
your measurements of the discrepancy are accurate.
… then send it to : legal@iburstmyballs.co.za
